Classification Introduction
  • The tribe Dedyini Lepesme & Breuning, 1955 currently contains 7 species in 2 genera. Photographs of exemplar specimens are coming soon.
Diagnostic Features of Adults
  • Body generally moderate-sized (between 10-40 mm), rarely small-sized (less than 10 mm); generally elongate. Antennae generally filiform, unarmed; antennae 11-segmented, long, extending beyond tip of abdomen. Pronotum generally elongate (distinctly longer than wide); lateral margins of pronotum unarmed, without distinct spines or tubercles. Pronotum shape -distinctly narrower basally. Mesocoxal cavities open to mesepimeron. Elytral apices without distinct spines. Wings variable, from complete to absent or reduced.
