Classification Introduction
  • The tribe Ideratini Martins & Napp, 2009 currently contains 5 species in 1 genus. Photographs of exemplar specimens are coming soon.
Diagnostic Features of Adults
  • Body moderate-sized, between 10-40 mm; generally elongate; generally with metallic reflection. Eyes generally reniform, complete (not completely divided into upper and lower lobes). Antennae generally serrate, flabellate, or expanded laterally, unarmed; antennae 11-segmented, antennal length variable, from short (not extending beyond tip of abdomen) to long (extending beyond tip of abdomen); antennal with distinct tufts of setae (hairs). Pronotum generally elongate (distinctly longer than wide); lateral margins of pronotum with distinct blunt tubercles. Mesocoxal cavities in relation to epimeron variable, open or closed. Elytral apices without distinct spines.
