Classification Introduction
  • The tribe Unxiini Napp, 2007 currently contains 29 species in 8 genera. Photographs of 8 exemplar specimens are currently available for this tribe.
Diagnostic Features of Adults
  • Body small to moderate-sized, from less than 10 mm to between 10-40 mm; generally elongate; with or without metallic reflection. Eyes generally reniform, complete (not completely divided into upper and lower lobes). Antennae generally filiform, unarmed; antennae 11-segmented, long, extending beyond tip of abdomen; antennae with distinct tufts of setae (hairs) or not. Pronotum generally elongate (distinctly longer than wide); lateral margins of pronotum variable, with distinct blunt tubercles or without. Mesocoxal cavities open to mesepimeron. Elytral apices without distinct spines. Metafemoral length compared to profemora variable, about as long or distinctly longer.
