Classification Introduction
  • The tribe Saphanini Gistel, 1848 currently contains ~40 species in 10 genera. Photographs of 7 exemplar specimens are currently available for this tribe.
Diagnostic Features of Adults
  • Mesoscutum with divided stridulatory file. Paired mesoventral procoxal rests moderately to strongly oblique. Procoxal cavity circular or longer than wide. Antennae borne on raised tubercles. Prothoracic trochantin or pleurotrochantin at least partly exposed. Base of prothorax distinctly narrower than elytral bases (Lawrence, 2007).
