Classification Introduction
  • The tribe Disteniini Thomson, 1861 currently contains ~350 species in ~30 genera. Photographs of 13 exemplar specimens are currently available for this tribe.
Diagnostic Features of Adults
  • Antennae longer than body, equipped with a fringe of long hairs. Maxillary palps of male simple, without membranous appendage. Fourth article of maxillary palps of females fusiform (Villiers, 1961).

  • Not yet available for this taxon.
Geographic Distribution of Tribe Biology and Economic Importance
  • Adults on plant surfaces; larvae in wood; xylophagous (Lawrence, 2007).
