Fruits of the willow-leaved hakea are sole in the potpourri trade as “hakea pods.” Follicles are grey-brown (when fresh), globular, warty, and woody, 1-3 cm long x 1-2 cm wide, with a short, 2-pronged beak, splitting into two segments, each with a broad, winged seed.
Hakea salicifolia is native to Australia but cultivated and naturalized in Europe, Africa, and New Zealand.
