Himatanthus obovatus (Müll. Arg.) Woodson, Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 25: 193, in obs. 201 (1937).
Fruits of H. obovatus are sold in the potpourri trade as “tiborna,” the Brazilian name. Follicles are canoe-shaped, 16-20 cm long x 5-7 cm wide (in the dry state), striate on the exterior, shiny on the interior.
Himatanthus obovatus is native to Brazil.
