Diagnosis
4.8−5.3 mm long (mean = 4.96 mm; n = 5); 2.18−2.41 times as long as wide. his species is clearly distinguished from S. allecta by the pair of large spinesspine:
an elongate projection of the exoskeleton that is longer than its basal width

Host plants
The species has been recorded only from trees of the family Dipterocarpaceae (Balanocarpus, Dipterocarpus, Dryobalanops, Hopea, Shorea, Vatica) (Browne 1961aBrowne 1961a:

Remarks
Browne (1961b) notes that broods tend to be small (from 8–18 individuals), and that the life cycle may be completed in 3–4 weeks.
