Recognition and diagnostic features
Males have bright red coloration below the eyes and brilliant coloration elsewhere. Females are drab and are very difficult to identify to species (a common problem for the entire genus).

Immatures probably look similar to females. Penultimate males have red clypeus and dorsal abdominal pattern but lack leg ornamentation.
