Classification Diagnostic Features of Larvae
  • Mature larva. Similar to that of Cheloderus childreni, but differing as follows: Head with paramedian transverse depressions of frons shallow. Labial palpi with basal segments strongly elongate, at least twice as long as second segment. Abdomen with anal lobes dull, micro-spiculate. Adapted from Duffy (1960).
Biology and Economic Importance
  • Adults on plant surfaces; larvae feed on the wood of angiosperms, especially Nothofagus (Lawrence, 2007).
